President von der Leyen in Slovenia - in Bled for the Strategic Forum and in Črna to visit August 2023 flood sites
On 2 September, President von der Leyen (pictured) was in Slovenia to participate in the 2024 edition of the Bled Strategic Forum. She also visited the areas stricken by the floods of August 2023, a year after her first visit.
In the afternoon, the President gave a keynote speech in the opening session of the Bled Strategic Forum, which you can follow on EbS. President von der Leyen will then participate in a leaders' panel on ‘A World of Parallel Realities' alongside Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković and Prime Minister of Slovenia, Robert Golob.
That morning, the President travelled with Prime Minister Golob from Ljubljana to Črna na Koroškem, where the mayor Romana Lesjak guided them through a photo exhibition and discussed developments on the ground. She then visited a reconstruction site of areas flooded in August 2023, before holding a short press point with Prime Minister Golob and the mayor. It is on EbS.
