Impact Solutions Advisors are proud to announce a new partnership with the Malkia Initiative, a women-led community organization working in the Kajiado region of Kenya, writes Colin Stevens.

The project is led by partners Nimco Ali and Rola Brentlin. The Malkia Initiative works in the region ensuring girls have access to education and supporting woman, and young mothers with training in vocational skills to build sustainable livelihoods

.The new project will support the renovation of the Olgulului Primary School, currently serving as the only school for girls in the region. The renovation will seek to improve conditions for the girls currently in the school, as well as increase the school’s capacity to 800 students—by expanding learning areas as well as dormitories.

By improving the school’s infrastructure, the initiative tackles the socio-cultural, economic, and logistical barriers that prevent girls from accessing quality education. This effort will not only ensure more girls remain in school but also empower them to excel academically and socially, creating a lasting positive impact on their lives and the community.

In addition, the initiative will offer scholarships to 30 of the most vulnerable girls. Scholarships are a transformative tool for social change, as they help keep girls in school, delaying early marriage and childbearing while providing time for personal and academic development. By reducing the financial burden on families, the scholarships will foster greater support for girls’ education, paving the way for a brighter and more equitable future.

Ali and Brentlin have led the fundraising efforts securing the necessary resources for the project and will be overseeing the project together with Jedidah Lemaron, Executive Director at the Malkia Initiative.
