Greece offers second COVID booster for people over 60
A second dose of COVID-19 booster will be offered by Greece to people 60 years and older, officials from Greek health said Tuesday.
Marios Themistocleous (Greek health ministry secretary-general responsible for vaccinations), announced that the relative platform would open on April 7th.
A health ministry official stated that the fourth round of mRNA shots was being offered because the number of infections in the country was still high. The booster dose had also proven effective in preventing COVID-related deaths.
On Tuesday, health officials reported 18988 cases of COVID-19 and 70 deaths related to the disease. This brings the total number of infected people in the country to 3.11 million. COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 27,816 people.
Some 72% of the 11 million people in general are fully vaccinated.
