Italy election frontrunner welcomes CDP's move to delay bid for TIM's grid
Brothers of Italy are happy with the decision of state lender CDP not to bid for Telecom Italia (TIM) fixed line grid until after a 25 September, national election, according to a top official of the right-wing party leading polls.
AlessioButti, a lawmaker responsible for telecoms policy at the Brothers of Italy party, said: "I appreciate CDP's determination to delay its nonbinding bid until after it votes."
Sources claimed that CDP decided to wait until the 25 September vote to file its non-binding offer to TIM's landline grid in order to make plans for creating a single broadband network throughout Italy.
