MOFA welcomes EU Chips Act

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) sincerely welcomed the European Commission’s release of the European Chips Act, February 9, which names Taiwan as a potential partner for the European Union in semiconductor cooperation. In a released statement, the ministry expressed its appreciation for the strong momentum in bilateral trade and investment ties between Taiwan and the EU, and noted the vast potential for cooperation between the two sides in a number of areas, including the strengthening of global supply chains. The Taipei Representative Office in the EU and Belgium likewise echoed MOFA’s sentiments, affirming that Taiwan will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in different areas with the EU.
