Ukraine's Zelenskiy says US and China statement on nuclear threats 'weighty statements'
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zeleskiy has said that he was happy with the statements made by the United States and China at the G20 meeting regarding the inadmissibility of nuclear weapons threats.
"This grouping is very heavy," Zelenskiy said in his nightly video address. He referred to the G20 and G19 in what appeared to be a direct message that he didn't consider Russia part of this group.
"It is particularly important that China and the United States jointly stressed that nuclear weapon threats were unacceptable. Everyone understands who these words are addressed to."
According to the White House, President Joe Biden of the United States and President Xi Jinping of China agreed that no nuclear war should be fought and they opposed any threat to nuclear weapons use in Ukraine.
