France's Macron talks to new Italian PM Meloni

French President Emmanuel Macron and Giorgia Melonsi (pictured), the new prime minister of Italy, met on Sunday (23 October), French TV station BFM TV reported. It did not cite its sources.
Macron is currently in Italy on an official visit.
Giorgia Maloni, together with her cabinet team was sworn into office as Italy's first female prime minister. This gave the country its most right-leaning government since World War Two.
