More than 100 Belgian parliamentarians strongly condemn the human rights violations in Iran and express support for the ‘No to Executions’ campaign to stop executions

Belgian parliamentarians from the main political parties and all regions of the country have joined the international outrage at the surge in executions in Iran, writes Gérard Deprez, minister of state, Belgium.

The campaign against executions, both within Iran and abroad, has called: “No to the daily hanging of youths, no to the execution of women, and no to the reign of the noose.”

For 47 weeks, political prisoners in 25 prisons have been staging hunger strikes every Tuesday to protest against executions.

On 13 November, men and women imprisoned in Evin and Qezel Hesar prisons raised their voices in unison: “With one voice, united in determination, we will stand until the death penalty is abolished.”

More than 100 Belgian parliamentarians, including 4 party leaders and several presidents of parliamentary groups and committees, expressed their  support for Maryam Rajavi’s (pictured) call for an end to executions in Iran and her firm commitment to abolition of  the death penalty, as outlined in her Ten-Point Plan.
