Commissioner Várhelyi on a two-day visit to Jordan

Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi (pictured), will be in Jordan today (30 November), and Wednesday, 1 December, to take forward the discussions on EU-Jordan partnership as well as on the implementation of the New Agenda for the Mediterranean and its Economic and Investment Plan for Southern Neighbourhood. On the first day of the visit, the Commissioner will meet Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Shraideh, as well as business representatives and civil society organizations working with Syrian refugees, among others.
On 1 December, the Commissioner will participate at the opening of the annual Euro-Arab Border Security Conference on the topics of border control management and security and common migratory challenges across the Mediterranean. The mission takes place after 6th Regional forum of the Union for Mediterranean and the 3rd EU-Southern Neighbourhood Ministerial meeting in Barcelona on 29 November.
